What People Are Saying
"I have been coming to Engage for four years now. ... The main reason I come to Engage is to get fed. When I first heard of Engage several eyars ago, I was naive in my understanding of who our God is. But through amazing, Scripture-based, inspiring teaching, I have grown spiritually so much. It challenges my daily walk with our Father, in my relationship with my wife, in my relationships with my friends, in my career attitude, and in how I serve. ... It has helped to equip me in my daily life as I encounter people who are so much like I was and who are seeking so many of the same things I seek."
— Taylor
"Once the service starts, I can't think of a better place to be. The praise time is wonderful. You see the worship team's hearts in what they do up there, and it pulls you in. The messages are always incredible! I admire the creativity that goes into each series and each message. I can see as each person gets up there to speak that they are all totally led by the Holy Spirit and they totally are head over heels in love with Jesus and with their families."

What is Engage?
Engage is an intersection of teaching, worship, and community that enables people from different churches, denominations, and backgrounds to engage God with their hearts, souls, minds, and hands. Using creative theological expressions, Engage seeks to awaken lives to rediscover Christ. Engage is not a church, and it doesn’t try to be one. Instead, it’s a resource where churches and people from across the upstate can come to engage God together
What is Engage's aim?
We measure success at Engage (as well as the other intersections we create) by asking these questions afterward:
- Were you inspired?
- Were you disturbed?
- Were you freed to think differently about God?
- Were you safe to speak honestly about yourself?
- Were you dared to love others boldly?
- Do you have a next step?
What is Engage's DNA?
- About 300 people attend each night of Engage. According to our most recent survey, about half are students at local colleges and universities, and the other half are out of school and working. Our survey also told us that we have attenders from 40 or more churches each week at Engage.
- Engage changes generations every 9-18 months. In other words, our community is vastly different from year to year. Most people come to Engage for a year or two and then move on for a variety of reasons. Despite this constant change, Engage has remained a consistent spiritual voice for college students and young professionals in the upstate.
- Over the past year, Engage attenders have given more than $10,000 to two giving projects. In April 2007 we raised more than $6,000 to fund microfinance projects in Ethiopia. And in February 2008, we raised more than $4,000 to provide facilities for churches who are rebuilding sites for Compassion International projects in Peru after a massive earthquake. Engage attenders also sponsored 18 children through Compassion in conjunction with this project.
